Description
Our General Security Awareness Course (GSAT) has been designed to comply with the Department for Transports National Aviation Security Program Syllabus, Version 3 2019.
The course contains Modules 1 to 3 which are referred to as the 'core' modules. Modules 1 – 3 are mandatory under EU 2015/1998, as retained in UK law, 11.2.6.1 and SCD A 11.2.6 for airport staff who DO NOT require access to the SRA/CPSRA. This also applies to staff working at sites away from airports who have access to cargo/mail, airport supplies or in flight services who require training under EU 2015/1998, as retained in UK law 11.2.7.
In addition, Staff who require SRA/CPSRA access (ID card holders) also require module 4, which covers the additional requirements under EU 2015/1998, as retained in Uk law and Module 5, which covers the training requirements of escorts under SCD Part A 11.2.6.

COURSE AIMS
• To ensure that all staff working in areas requiring general security awareness are aware of the security threat in their place of work.
• To familiarise trainees with the nature of the threat to aviation and the basic security measures in place to counter that threat.
• For trainees to understand the core objectives and organisation of aviation security.
• For trainees to understand their role and responsibilities and the part they must play to contribute to aviation security.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Staff who are required to hold an airport ID card. (other than those who are exempt).
DURATION
Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of Modules required.
RECURRENT TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Recurrent training must take place at least every 60 months thereafter, or where competencies have not been exercised for more than 6 months (where a person has been absent from the workplace or not accessed the SRA for 6 months or more).
