RVSM (FM008/1)


Description

RVSM was implemented to reduce the vertical separation above flight level (FL) 290 from 2000-ft minimum to 1000-ft minimum. It allows aircraft to safely fly more optimum profiles, gain fuel savings and increase airspace capacity.


This course is designed to give Aircrew the basic knowledge and understanding of RVSM operations and complies with EASA/UK Regulation, EC 965/2012, Annex 5, Part SPA.


Topics covered in the 3 Modules include:


-RVSM History and operational overview

-Operational and approval considerations

-Preparation for flight

-In-flight considerations

-Contingency actions

-Post flight considerations


There is also a video at the end which consolidates the modules (audio included). Multiple choice questions must be answered in order to complete the course.


Duration is approximately 1:30hrs.
